£2300 for NSPCC
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our Santa Dash in December, raising almost £5000. A cheque was presented to NSPCC in assembly and the remaining amount has gone to PTA funds. Once again, we are amazed by the generosity of Finaghy PS pupils, family and friends.
Welcome Poppy and Finley
Pupils parents and friends of Finaghy PS raised an incredible £7000 to adopt and sponsor two guide dog puppies. Poppy and Finley are now around 8 weeks old and will begin their training very soon. We can’t wait for their first visit to Finaghy PS.

Guide Dogs NI are our chosen charity this year and we have raised a stunning total of £7000 – a full £2000 over our target. We now get to name two pups, receive birth certificates, get regular ‘pup-dates’ and two visits to the school! We’re very excited. A huge thank you to all pupils, parents

Maths Tournament Day – 19 May
All pupils will be encouraged to try out for our Maths Tournament teams. We would be delighted if parents would give a bit of extra assistance with number-facts, tables and basic maths revision in the run-up to the event. It’s going to get competitive!
Edinburgh ’15
This year’s Edinburgh trip included visits to adventure park, Seaworld, puppet theatre, Camera Obscura, Edinburgh Castle, bowling, Dynamic Earth, Science Centre and indoor skiing! A whirlwind trip, with lifetime memories! Check the gallery for photos. (Also on our Twitter account: @Finaghyps)
Cup Final Winners!
On 10 May Finaghy PS played Downshire PS in the final of the Lisburn & District Under 11 Cup. It was a tightly fought contest between two great teams, ending in a 2-2 score draw after extra time. (Goal scorers: Callum Keys and Christian King.) A penalty shoot-out still failed to produce a winner, and the victory
Annie: 24-26 March
P6 in Ardnabannon
P6 decided that, if it was going to rain all day, they might as well walk in the river! They also experienced archery, climbing, bouldering, team games and a trip to Newcastle. The trip is a great bonding experience for everyone, and a brilliant introduction to the world beyond iPads!

FPS in bloom!
June 2014: Amongst this year’s crops we have radishes, lettuce, leeks, strawberries, raspberries and herbs. The garden has been in great demand these past few weeks for story-telling, bug-hunting, fish-spotting and sun-bathing.
